Within the UK’s specialist ammunition and defence equipment sector stands Conjay – a trusted name among collectors, armed forces, and industry professionals for generations. Led by seasoned experts from across the field, the company brings deep-rooted knowledge and reliability to every aspect of its work. We recently sat down with Peter Williamson, our Operations Manager, to learn more about the company’s work, its proudest moments, and what the future might hold for defence technology.
Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your role at Conjay?
I’m the Operations Manager at Conjay. My role is to plan, direct and co-ordinate the operations department of Conjay. This includes managing the ammunition inventory, as well as the sales and delivery of it. This also involves finding potential customers for all Conjay’s products and services, and also attending a range of exhibitions and symposiums.
What’s been your most memorable experience since joining Conjay?
Attending Shot Show in Las Vegas earlier this year! It was an incredible show with a huge array of high-quality equipment and services on display. At the show the Conjay team were able to highlight some great potential products and partnerships for our future endeavours.
Which Conjay product or service do you find most exciting, and why?
I think our recent partnership with HTi Center, which was a follow up from visiting the Shot Show. They have a superb range of weapons, especially their sniper rifle which looks like a work of art – which is not surprising considering it is made in Italy! The team at Conjay are very excited to be getting their hands on these very soon.
What’s one thing you think more people should know about Conjay?
I wish more people new about the full range of products and services that we can offer, it’s not just what you can see on our website. Conjay has far larger reach than that. If we can’t source or deliver what our clients and customers require then we most certainly will know someone that can!
Looking ahead, what emerging technologies do you think will shape the future of the defence industry?
We have seen from recent times how rapid the iterative development of drones has been, I believe this market will continue to grow exponentially and is something that the UK, which has been highlighted by the recent Defence Review, and its allies will be working hard to ensure they can adapt at pace to the ever-changing threats that we face.
