Daren Conway
Managing Director
For over 40 years Daren has helped shape Conjay from its origins to transforming its capabilities far beyond just Munitions for Armour and Ballistic Testing – including Mining Security and Space Habitat Survival Systems.
With a Degree in Geography and early interests in flying, vehicles and the Cosmos, he has brought his unique perspective in taking Conjay forward for the next 100 years.
Every member of staff in the past 25 years has been chosen by Daren to enable Conjay to provide expertise to an ever-changing global security market.
Daren founded the Conjay Design Bureau which has created bespoke Machines, such as the ABPC and SHAST.
He also marketed and sold various C-IED solutions to the British Army, including EXPRAY, PDK and EXPEN.
Richard Jeffery
Chief of Staff
Retiring after 35 years of military service, Richard had business consultant roles dealing with Government departments and other large public enterprises. Throughout this time Richard remained a keen civilian shooter and ammunition enthusiast. Now joining Conjay, Richard is delighted to be able to fully combine his professional skills and personal experience to help Conjay offer the best service and value to our clients.
Karen Conway
Finance Director
Working Internationally in both Canada and the United Kingdom as a Legal Executive in Top Firms and for a Trade Union, Karen’s extensive legal knowledge and Networking Skills have transformed the Financial Aspects of the Company. Her Expert advice helping nurture Conjay growth is invaluable and she has expanded her role to include Property Director.
Paul Sutton (Sutty)
Business Support Manager
Paul joins the Conjay family after completing 25 years of service in the British army as a combat infantryman. He brings with him a wealth of operational and leadership experience and has most recently spent 2 years on the Export Support Team, as part of the UK Defence and Security Exports. Here he helped SME’s realise their export potential as well as represent the UK Defence community at various trade shows around the world.
Callum Meadows
Research & Design Manager
Callum joined the British Army as an Ammunition Technician after a background in chemistry. During his time in the Army he provided EOD support both domestically and around the globe. Following his service, Callum has spent time as a contract explosives chemist and consultant for a number of clients internationally.
Rebecca Bent (Beccy)
Operations Assistant
Beccy joins the Conjay family after building a diverse career across pharmacy management and business ownership. She brings with her a wealth of operational and leadership experience, having spent over a decade managing high-volume pharmacies and building strong relationships with GP practices and care homes. In 2018, she founded and grew her own business from the ground up, leading the business through the challenges of COVID-19 to become a thriving local venture.
Jim Moss
Ammunition Program Manager
Jim has over 42 years of combined law enforcement and military experience, specializing in counterintelligence, counterterrorism, and counterinsurgency. Since 1984, he has instructed and advised federal, state, local, and international agencies as a firearms and tactics expert. A former Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Defense, Jim also served over a decade with FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces. He is the Executive Director of ACISAA and a Charter Member of NLEFIA, with over 40 years as a firearms trainer, including roles with Sig Sauer Academy and Olympic Arms. Jim holds multiple certifications, a Criminal Justice degree, and a U.S. Pilot’s License.
Jaymie Conway
Business Support Assistant
Jaymie joins the Conjay team straight out of college where he brings his organisational and team-building skills. He is excited to follow in the footsteps of his father, working to improve and grow the company his grandfather created almost 60 years ago.
Jon Ryder
Engineering Design Manager
For nearly 40 years Jon has provided a design and prototyping service for a wide variety of clients, many of whom are in the shooting/defence industries. His services range from the basic, such as making parts from a detailed drawing, to a full design service taking the most basic sketches and providing a full working prototype made in my fully-equipped machine shop. Over the years, he has collaborated with Conjay and produced a number of bespoke items.
