Within the UK’s specialist ammunition and defence equipment sector stands Conjay – a trusted name among collectors, armed forces, and industry professionals for generations. Led by seasoned experts from across the field, the company brings deep-rooted knowledge and reliability to every aspect of its work. We recently sat down with Conjay’s newest member Callum Meadows, our Operations Assistant, to learn more about his work within the company and what the future might hold for defence technology.
Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your role at Conjay?
What’s been your most memorable experience since joining Conjay?
I must say that witnessing the ammunition collection for the first time was an amazing experience. As an enthusiast of all things ammunition-related, it was a privilege to not only observe but also handle and catalogue some of the rarest ammunition globally.
Which Conjay product or service do you find most exciting, and why?
I am looking forward to developing a training course that will utilise the ExPen explosive detection kits that we currently provide to the United Kingdoms Ministry of Defence and other global agencies. Having personally utilised these products operationally within the British Army, this training course will offer a unique opportunity for potential users to gain practical experience and apply the products in real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach will provide valuable insights that are particularly pertinent when critical situations arise.
What’s one thing you think more people should know about Conjay?
It is important to acknowledge that Conjay is not solely a company engaged in the ammunition and explosives detection fields. Our operations extend beyond these sectors, encompassing activities in the mining sector and even the space industry.
Looking ahead, what emerging technologies do you think will shape the future of the defence industry?
In response to the escalating global conflicts, we have witnessed a significant surge in drone warfare. I anticipate that the forthcoming years will witness the emergence of AI-driven anti-drone technology, employing directed energy weapons, I believe these weapons will shape the future of defence.
